Hi guys! I’m a little late here, but happy summer solstice and cheers to a new season which means new beginnings!
Summer is my favorite season. I love all things sun, warm, water, boating, grilling, tanning, messy bun and fun! This summer also brings a new beginning for us as we will have our final embryo transfer this season and we are beginning to prepare for that now.
I have had a few weeks off, I don’t begin meds for our next round until July 2nd so I am making the most of it! This weekend Grant and I hung out with some friends for dinner at Fat Rosie’s our favorite Mexican restaurant in Frankfort, so much fun! I spent sometime hanging in my parents back yard with them and Marley and he got to have his first “play date” with their little neighbor dog, they had so much fun! Yesterday Grant and I brought Marley to Stefari Cafe, the farmers market and for a nice long walk at Perry Farm, not a bad start to summer!
I’m packing in lots of fun things this next week. Tomorrow I leave for Lake Shelbyville for a few days with my dad, sister and two of my besties, CAN NOT WAIT! Then Thursday is Grant and I’s 4 year wedding anniversary! Crazy how fast 4 years as come and gone! We are celebrating next Saturday in Chicago 🥂
A few blogs ago I mentioned wanting to try an infrared sauna and a few people reached out to me with their experiences and recommendations. Luckily we have an awesome place near by, Wellistics in Manteno. My sister and I went and tried it out and we loved it! The owner is a retired police officer and super friendly. The space is very nice and clean with relaxing vibes and inviting decor. We chose the Tranquility Sauna so we could go in together. We did a custom session which lasted 40 minutes, with lights, music and temperatures of about 139 degrees. The lights and music have their own benefits and we definitely worked up a sweat, it felt so good! We will definitely go back. I’m going to try it during my next period because that’s when I’m in the most pain and see if it helps! Hot yoga helps with the pain so I’m sure the sauna will be an added benefit! Heat in general is one of the only things that really helps bring some relief to those rough days- bring on the hot baths, heating pads, hot yoga and sauna sessions!
In Marley news, he graduated from puppy school (well course 1 of 3) and he did such a good job! He now knows how to sit, lay down on command, shake, come, focus, touch (his nose to our palm), walk nicely on a leash, ignore other people and dogs (kind of 😉), and drop things on command, he still struggles with jumping up on people and “wait, stay” commands, but I think it’s because he is just so friendly! We have a few weeks off and then we start the intermediate course. I stole this picture of us on our last day of course 1 from the PetSmart website, it was a little chaotic that day so I didn’t get to snap any pics myself but glad we have this one 😊

I hope everyone had a great weekend and kick off to summertime! May this new season bring you all a fresh start and renewed energy for whatever your hearts desire, thanks for checking in!
Xoxo
